    PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

Clear answers about what's really going on, and a plan for what comes next.

People come to assessment carrying questions that haven't been answered yet. Your child is struggling at school and you want to understand why. You've wondered for years whether you have ADHD. A previous assessment never quite fit. A doctor or school has asked for formal documentation. Something feels wrong and you're tired of guessing.

I provide comprehensive psychological assessment for children, teens, and adults, including:

    • ADHD assessment and attention concerns

    • Autism assessment (ASD)

    • Psychoeducational assessment: cognitive ability, academic achievement, and learning disorders in reading, writing, and mathematics

    • Anxiety disorders and OCD

    • Mood concerns, including depression and bipolar spectrum presentations

    • Tic and Tourettic disorders

    • Feeding and eating concerns, including ARFID

    • Personality assessment, including in-depth methods such as the Rorschach (R-PAS)

    • Complex or unclear presentations, where symptoms overlap, contradict, or have never fit neatly into a single category

My training and experience cover diagnostic assessment across the full range of concerns described in the DSM-5, not psychoeducational testing alone. Assessments are tailored: you are not buying a fixed battery of tests, you are buying an answer to your question, and I select the tools that question requires.

The psychologist who meets you at intake is the one who administers the testing, interprets the results, writes the report, and walks you through the findings. Every step, one set of hands.

    PARENTING & FAMILY WORK

    The heart of this practice.

Parenting rarely struggles in the abstract. It struggles at 7:40 on a school morning, at bedtime, in the parking lot after practice. This work is for you if your child's anxiety is running the household, if mornings and homework and screens have become daily battles, if your child refuses to attend therapy and home still feels stuck, or if you and your partner are pulling in different directions.

Meaningful change at home does not require your child to sit in my office. Some of the best-researched approaches to childhood anxiety work through parents, because you are with your child every day. That makes you the most powerful agent of change they have, and my job is to equip you.

I'm an authorized SPACE practitioner, trained directly by Dr. Eli Lebowitz of the Yale Child Study Center. SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a structured, parent-based treatment for childhood anxiety and OCD. Rather than asking your child to change first, it changes what surrounds them: how anxiety gets accommodated at home, and how you respond with both support and confidence in your child's ability to cope.

Beyond SPACE, I offer parenting support, parent coaching, and family therapy drawing on family-systems thinking and years of work with families facing anxiety, big behaviour, and daily conflict. Sometimes the work is a structured program, sometimes coaching through a specific hard season, sometimes the whole family in the room together.

    Why this is my lane.

Parenting support isn't a service I added to a list. It's the reason this clinic exists. I was raised by an expert in child development and early childhood education, and I grew up, quite literally, in a school. Family dynamics aren't just my profession; they've been the fabric of my whole life, and today I teach psychology to those coming up in the field. I believe it's time to rethink how we parent in the Western world, and I intend to help change it one family at a time. That's why the name on the door is Revolution.

And I'm a parent, in it every day. The approaches on this page live in my own house: tested at my own breakfast table, adjusted through my own hard seasons, occasionally worn on my own shirt. I know what it feels like when a good plan meets a real Tuesday. I will never hand you a strategy I couldn't survive myself.

FEEDING, EATING & YOUR FAMILY'S FOOD CULTURE

From picky eating and ARFID to the dinner-table battles no one warns you about.

Food is supposed to be one of family life's pleasures. When it becomes a source of dread instead, every day contains three or more hard moments: a child whose list of accepted foods is shrinking, mealtimes that have become standoffs, eating anxiety that rules birthday parties and holidays and school lunches.

Feeding struggles live in the family, not just in the eater. Everyone at the table is part of the pattern, which is good news, because it means everyone at the table can be part of the change.

I'm an authorized SPACE-for-ARFID practitioner. SPACE-for-ARFID is a structured, parent-based treatment for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder: rather than pressuring your child to eat differently, it changes how the household responds to restricted eating, reducing the accommodations that keep it stuck while supporting your child's own capacity to expand.

Alongside that, I help families build something most have never been offered: a shared language and set of daily habits around food. How you talk about hunger, fullness, new foods, and bodies. What mealtimes are for. Every member of your family, kids and adults alike, with an easier relationship with eating.

Where medical or nutritional care belongs in the picture, I work alongside your physician or dietitian, not instead of them.

    OCD, ADHD & TIC DISORDERS

Specialized care for children, teens, and adults.

OCD. Intrusive thoughts, rituals, checking, or a need for things to feel "just right" can take hours from your day, or your child's. If the theme feels too uncomfortable to say out loud, I've heard it, and it's treatable. My work with OCD is grounded in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the treatment with the strongest evidence behind it, delivered at a pace we set together. For children and teens, SPACE means progress is possible even when your child refuses to attend sessions.

ADHD. Focus, follow-through, time, and organization have always been harder for you than they seem to be for others, or your child has ADHD and you want more than a checklist of strategies. I offer both ADHD assessment and treatment, with practical work on the places ADHD collides with real life: school, work, relationships, and home. For parents, we work on the daily friction points, not idealized routines that collapse by Thursday.

Tics and Tourette syndrome. I offer CBIT (Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics), the leading evidence-based behavioural treatment for tic disorders. "Wait and see" is sometimes right, but it is not the only option, and families deserve to know that.

    DEPTH-ORIENTED THERAPY

For the patterns that keep coming back.

The same pattern repeats in your relationships, your work, your family, no matter how well you understand it. You've done therapy before, gained real tools, and something underneath still hasn't moved. Anxiety or low mood keeps returning and you suspect it's pointing at something older. You want a place to take the big questions seriously.

Depth-oriented therapy starts from a simple conviction: symptoms have histories. The patterns that trouble us most began somewhere, usually early, usually for good reasons that have long since stopped serving us. Understanding where a pattern started, and what it was originally protecting, is often what finally allows it to change.

I am formally trained in psychodynamic and family-systems approaches, with an existential and humanistic thread running through everything I do. Your childhood, your family's patterns, and the roles you learned to play all have a seat in the room. I will not rush you past pain to get to a worksheet. Some things need to be felt and understood before they can shift.

This is slower, deeper work by design. Many people feel relief early, and the lasting change tends to build over months as understanding turns into different choices.

You don't need a crisis to begin. Wanting to understand yourself is reason enough.

    HOW IT WORKS

Getting started. Call 403-968-7020 or email info@revolutionpsychology.ca. I'll get back to you within one business day to talk briefly about what you're looking for and arrange a first appointment. There's no online booking form here, so you'll be talking to me from the start.

‍ ‍Therapy and parenting work. We meet for 50 minutes, typically weekly or biweekly, with practical steps to take between sessions. We'll agree on what we're doing and why, review how it's going at intervals, and plan an ending when the work is done.

    ‍ ‍Assessment. Five steps:

    1. Intake conversation. Your concerns, history, and the question you want answered. If you've had previous assessments, bring them. You'll leave with a clear plan and a written estimate.

    2. Testing sessions. Tailored to your question: cognitive and academic testing, diagnostic interviews, questionnaires for you and, for children, caregivers and teachers, and specialized measures as needed.

    3. Scoring and integration. Every data point brought together into one coherent picture.

    4. Feedback session. We go through the findings together in plain language, with room for every question you have.

    5. Your report. A thorough written report with practical recommendations and the documentation schools, physicians, funding bodies, and workplaces require.

For child assessments, the intake conversation is for parents and caregivers only, testing sessions are your child and me one-on-one, and the feedback session is for parents again. Where it's helpful, we can arrange a child-friendly version of the results for your child.

Depending on your availability, the typical start-to-report window is 4 to 6 weeks.

    FEES

All clinical services are billed at $250 per hour. A therapy or parenting appointment is one billable hour: 50 minutes together, plus 10 minutes for the documentation, notes, and planning your care requires. That time is part of the hour, not an extra charge on top of it.

Assessment is billed hourly rather than as a lump sum, and the total depends on the question being answered. You'll receive a clear written estimate at intake, before any testing begins. As a general guide:

    • Focused diagnostic assessment (for example ADHD, or an anxiety or mood concern, without academic testing): approximately 5 to 7 hours

    • Psychoeducational assessment (cognitive ability, academic achievement, attention): approximately 10 to 12 hours

    • Comprehensive or complex assessment (multiple questions, personality assessment, or autism assessment added): approximately 12 to 16 hours

Scoring, report writing, and communication with schools are included in your estimate, not billed as surprises on top.

I don't currently offer direct billing to insurance providers, though I hope to offer it in the future. You'll receive an official receipt after each session to submit to your insurer. Most extended health plans cover services provided by a Registered Psychologist; it's worth checking your specific coverage before you begin.
